Tough as Nails

I have been re-reading my Tank Girl comics to garner some Halloween inspiration. And, because life imitates comics, it seems my sartorial choices have been infused with some punk-gurrrl attitude.

According to Wiki: “At the core of punk fashion is the desire to outrage others with the highly theatrical use of clothing, hairstyles, cosmetics, tattoos, jewelry and body modification. Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect: ripped clothing was held together by safety pins or wrapped with tape; ordinary clothing was customized by embellishing it with marker or adorning it with paint; a black bin liner became a dress, shirt or skirt; safety pins and razor blades were used as jewelry.”

Can you identify which punk elements I picked for a much more toned-down effect?

  1. My brother went to school with the producer’s son for Tank Girl… We all thought it sucked hind tit! Who’s taking these pictures? Is it Dan? Apparently you guys have a little voyeuristic thing going? Hope you guys are doing fine. We’ll have to try and get together after Lachee pops out the baby! Probably in about a week or two.

    1. Ah – you’re talking about the movie… I hated the movie too but I love the comics!
